The Government action plan to foster economic inclusion and social participation 2017-2023 proposes concrete steps for building a more caring and inclusive society that advances social justice.

This plan was drawn up following public hearings held from November 2015 to June 2016. It comprises 43 measures that are new or significantly enhanced, and which support four objectives:

  1. Lift over 100,000 people out of poverty and increase the incomes of people in poverty.
  2. Invest to improve social housing.
  3. Encourage the social participation of low-income individuals and families and mobilize communities.
  4. Research and assessment: Make government action to combat poverty and social exclusion more effective.
